Aromatherapy can be used in conjunction with massage.   The use of essential oils stimulates the olfactory system, releasing endorphins in the brain.  Real, organic scents which naturally occur in nature (not artificially-created scents), interacting with our own hormones and neurotransmitters, have been shown to positively affect the limbic system and mood.

The natural healing properties of flowers and plants can also be used to treat disorders and disease.  For example, tea tree oil (used for centuries in Eastern cultures) is now being used in Western societies as an active ingredient in many products.  It can also ease minor skin irritations when used alone.

Ms. Martin has a line of homemade products utilizing essential oils called Aromalotions.
